Basic Locksmithing
This class will provide the student with the basic skills of Locksmithing, beginning with the history and development of security products. Each of the lock types is covered thoroughly, including keys, key production and duplication. Tools and equipment used by the locksmith are demonstrated in practical exercises. We will also provide the student with practical exercises in disassembly/assembly of residential/commercial door hardware. Operation of key cutting equipment and key production, shimming how to use the key blank catalogues and key blank identification presentation. Approved as a vocational program under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.
