Door Closer Installation

This class will discuss the requirements of the National Building Code and Ontario Building Code, which set standards for the application and use of accessory door hardware. The most common closers and exit devices will be presented. Troubleshooting and corrective procedures will be detailed during the instruction period. This program does not require approval under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.

OPTIONAL: Level, Battery Operated Drill, Screwdriver with appropriate 3” length bits

Criminal Record Check NOT Required.

Post Secondary or Equivalent Education NOT Required.

  • 1/8”, 5/32”, 7/32”, 5/16”, 3/8”, 9/16” High speed Metal Drill Bit
  • 1/4 X 20 Tapered Tap, Tap Handle, Tap Drill # 7
  • Extension cord
  • Tape measure
  • Screwdrivers: ¼” flat slot, #2 & #3 Philips, #2 Robertson
  • Hammer
  • Allan or Hex Key set
  • Pencil
  • Tri-square or Set-square
  • Scratch Awl or Centre Punch
